Summary
During the theoretical research phase, it was noted that there was a need for a document that presented and summarised the rules that should be followed when carrying out scientific research with people with intellectual disabilities. With this in mind, the book ‘From Tokenism to Self-Determination: Ethical Considerations in Research with People with Intellectual Disabilities’ was written, which presents the ethical considerations to be taken into account when carrying out research with this group of people.
To make the guidelines easier to understand, the GameIN project has developed ‘Ethics Cards’, which aim to present these guidelines in accessible language and in a playful way.
To complement the cards, this booklet was created where you can find each guideline summarised and proposals for fun activities that mediators can use to introduce the guidelines in a more engaging way.
